The Girlfriend Update

Cayden, indeed, has a girlfriend. He told me the other day that she told him at lunch that he was her boyfriend. They do seem smitten with one another and seem to be very good friends most of all. Now, for the funny thing he said to me the other day.

Cayden: "Mom, sometimes I call my (girlfriend) my Queen".

It was all I could do to not laugh. But, I appreciate the smile on his face when he talks about her. I think she may rank up there with Star Wars.

Nana's visit

My mom came to visit and we had a GREAT weather weekend while she was here. We went over to Salem and went to Silver Falls State Park. It was Jeff and Bryce's first time. We had a great time and got to see some beautiful scenery.

Easter

Easter Sunday was a great day at our house. The Easter Bunny showed up bearing Star Wars toys and candy. Cayden also got to use the GPS for a treasure hunt that led him to a basketball hoop. Bryce enjoyed shaking the eggs but didn't like many of the snacks that were inside. The only thing that wasn't great were the pictures. It was one of those days.

Bryce is not much of a talker. We think his constant ear infections (yes, even after his tubes) have taken a bit of a toll on his hearing UNTIL RECENTLY. Lately, he has been quacking like a duck, clucking like a chicken, mooing like a cow, yelling cracker, and saying no. We used to just get an emphatic head shake but now he says "no!" He has quite the personality!

Cayden asked me the other day whether I had a boyfriend. After doing a bit of explaining about having a husband he thought for a bit and then asked "whether it was okay to have a husband and a boyfriend." After laughing quite a bit I told him that it wasn't the best idea. Just this week I found out where the question came from. Apparently, Cayden has a girlfriend at school and they even held hands during a movie. His teacher says that Cayden lights up whenever she is around. We, of course, have not asked him a thing about it because he gets so embarrassed.

This last weekend we decided to take the camp trailer out for the first time. We had warm weather in the forecast and with heat in the tent trailer we would be fine. We stayed close to home. We picked a spot by the Crooked River about 30 minutes from home. Have I mentioned we leave in an amazing place? Unfortunately, the heater did not work and Bryce and I had to come home because it was going to get COLD. Jeff and Cayden had a great night and got up in the morning and went fishing. Bryce and I met them in the early afternoon and we all went on a hike and geocaching. We had a great time! Bryce loves to be outside so he was in a great mood.

Trip to Colorado

I have neglected to post lately and I'm sorry. I have been busy some and lazy some. For Spring Break we made the trek to Colorado in our new vehicle. We got a Chevy Trailblazer and love everything about it, especially since we now have new tires (a long story). We went to celebrate Grandma 'Rene's 90th Birthday. There was lots of family and lots of activity. We had a great time and the boys traveled well . Enjoy the pictures.
