What Cayden Earned

Cayden was the 10th student to earn it!

Cayden and his buddy Hogan

Cayden earned his Marathon Pendant

Cayden participates in Run Club at school which is every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch. The general idea is that when kids have a after lunch recess the ones that are in run club go out to the track and run/walk instead. After every mile they earn a number or "foot" pendant. Just last week Cayden had run/walked a marathon. They have a limited time on the days they have run club and have been working on it for a couple of months minus yucky weather days. In his morning assembly today Cayden was given his 26.2! He was so excited all morning long that he forgot his backpack twice!

Thankful

I am Thankful

As I pulled into the driveway today I am reminded that I have an amazing husband who is an incredible father. I had been working all day at the coffee shop and while I was there he got the boys up and ready and took them for a hike up to Stein's Pillar. Then, when I got home he had the boys out in front and was playing basketball with both of them simultaneously. He had a heated game of one-on-one going with Cayden while making sure to include Bryce. And, to add to that (as if I needed more) he had dinner in the oven! What a guy! I am lucky and so often I forget that there are many dads out there who are not as involved as he is with our children. He, and they, enjoy their time together.

Made me Laugh

And Cayden strikes again:

Jeff: "Do you want a grilled cheese or a frozen pizza?"

Cayden: "I want a frozen pizza.... but dad, can it be warm instead of frozen?"

I promise you that we have never made him eat pizza any other way than warm. Where would he get the idea that we actually would feed him pizza that was still frozen.

Cayden really loves Bryce

For Bryce's Birthday Cayden made him a card. I was so touched by Cayden's sincerity that I took a couple of pictures. I hope that as they continue to grow up that they will have a strong bond.

Bryce's Big Second Birthday

Bryce had several birthday parties this year. The first was with Grandpa and Grandma and the next was with Nana and our good friends. Bryce got a very lucky treat this year - Kim made him a Thomas the Train cake. Thanks Kim!!! He was soooo excited he talked about it the whole party and for weeks afterward. We also celebrated on his exact birthday with an ice cream cake and opening more presents.

Cayden makes me laugh

Last night I was in bed reading and thought that Cayden was long asleep. He loves to read at night and has a hard time putting the book down. It must have been the same scenario last night because he came in my room and told he that he just read 4 more chapters of his book but was "going to save the last one for tomorrow because I need to have socks on". I was obviously confused but he explained, "the book says the last chapter will knock my socks off and I'm not wearing any." :) Very funny Cayden.

You might not want to look

I am warning you that these pictures are not very easy to look at. They are just hives but they are nasty and itchy. Poor Bryce! We don't know what causes them but are looking at getting him allergy tested because they get worse every time.

Bryce will even tell you "I have spots.... they itch... put me in the zoo". This is in reference to the children's book and is cute.

His dreams have come true

Jeff sold his Jeep in January so he could get a boat. And, after searching Craigslist for months he finally located the DriftBoat of his dreams. It was actually a weekend of dreams for him because he just got done "test driving" some new golf clubs when he went and looked at what turned out to be the perfect boat. The very next day he took two very excited kids out on Ochoco Reservoir and the day on the water was amazing. They all had a great time and Bryce waited to fall in until they were safely on shore.
